Who Can Apply

This recruitment is meant for candidates who already have some banking experience and want to work as an officer in their home state. You can apply for only one state in this entire recruitment, so choose carefully based on where you live and which local language you know well.

You must also be proficient in reading, writing and speaking the local language specified for your chosen state. If you have studied that language as a subject in your 10th or 12th standard, you get an exemption from the separate language test. Otherwise, you will need to clear a Local Language Proficiency Test.

Educational Qualification

The basic educational qualification for this post is simple to understand.

  • You must hold a graduate degree in any discipline from a university or institution recognised by the Government of India.
  • You must have already completed your graduation and hold a valid mark sheet or degree certificate at the time of registration.

Along with this degree, you also need banking work experience, which is explained in more detail below. This combination of education and experience makes this recruitment different from typical fresher bank exams.

Age Limit

Your age should be between 20 and 30 years as on 1 July 2026. This is the standard age limit for the Unreserved and EWS categories.

Reserved category candidates get extra relaxation. SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates get 3 years, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities get 10 years, and Ex-servicemen along with candidates affected by the 1984 riots get 5 years relaxation over the standard upper age limit.

Application Fee

The application fee for this recruitment depends on your category.

  • SC/ST/PwBD candidates: Rs. 59 (inclusive of GST), which covers only postage charges.
  • All other candidates: Rs. 1,180 (inclusive of GST).

This fee must be paid online, and it is completely non-refundable once paid. Bank transaction charges, if any, will also have to be borne by the candidate.

Salary

Selected candidates will join at JMGS-I scale with a starting basic pay of Rs. 48,480 per month, rising up to Rs. 85,920 over time as per the pay scale structure.

Apart from basic pay, officers also receive Dearness Allowance, City Compensatory Allowance, House Rent Allowance or Leased Accommodation, Leave Fare Concession, Medical Insurance and Retirement Benefits, along with other perquisites as per Bank rules.

Selection Process

The selection for Local Bank Officer involves up to four stages, depending on your profile.

  1. Online Written Test: This test covers Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, Data Analysis & Interpretation, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude, and General/Economy/Banking Awareness. There is negative marking, where one-fourth mark is deducted for each wrong answer.
  2. Screening: Your application and documents are checked to confirm you meet all eligibility conditions.
  3. Local Language Proficiency Test (LLPT): Required only if you have not studied the local language of your chosen state in 10th or 12th standard. This test is qualifying in nature.
  4. Personal Interview: This carries 50 marks, with a minimum qualifying score of 45% for SC/ST candidates and 50% for others.

Your final merit position is based on the combined marks of the Written Test and the Interview, but only if you also clear the LLPT wherever it applies. Missing the language test cut-off can disqualify you, even with a good score elsewhere.

Documents Required

Keep the following documents ready in original along with self-attested photocopies, since these are checked at the interview stage.

  • Printout of your Interview Call Letter and Online Application form
  • Proof of Date of Birth, such as your Birth Certificate or Std. X Certificate
  • Photo Identity Proof and Address Proof
  • Semester-wise or year-wise mark sheets and final degree certificate
  • Caste Certificate, for SC/ST/OBC candidates, with the non-creamy layer clause for OBC
  • Income and Asset Certificate, for EWS candidates
  • Disability Certificate, for PwBD candidates
  • Service or Discharge Book and Pension Payment Order, for Ex-servicemen candidates
  • Experience certificate in the prescribed format, proving your required banking work experience
  • No Objection Certificate, if you are already working in a Government office, PSU or Bank

Make sure your experience certificate is issued in the exact format mentioned in the notification’s annexures, since informal letters or salary slips alone will not be accepted as valid proof.
