Why This Recruitment Matters

Odisha Adarsha Vidyalayas are model residential schools set up by the Odisha government to provide quality education with hostel facilities in block-level locations, and staffing the hostel adequately with a Warden, cooking staff, and support personnel is essential for these institutions to function smoothly for the 2026-27 academic year. This recruitment specifically addresses the Non-KGBV Boys’ Hostel wing of OAV Pakidi Hill, ensuring residential students have proper care, food service, and hostel administration in place.

Understanding the Local Preference Policy

While not an absolute eligibility bar (unlike the male-only requirement), the notification establishes a clear preference hierarchy — first for candidates local to Sheragada block, then candidates from other blocks within Ganjam district if local candidates are unavailable. This reflects a common approach in Odisha’s residential school staffing to prioritize local employment opportunities while maintaining flexibility to fill posts when local candidates are not available.
