Who Can Apply

1. Warden

• Male for Boys’ Hostel and Female for Girls’ Hostel.
• Qualification: B.A./B.Sc. only, from any recognized university.
• Age: 30-60 years, as on the date of advertisement.
• Experience: At least 2 years in hostel management only.
• Must stay in the hostel 24×7.
• Remuneration: Rs. 21,175/month (including EPF share of employee & employer).

2. Night Watchman-cum-Sweeper (Chowkidar-cum-Sweeper)

• Male only.
• Qualification: Must have passed HSC (10th) examination.
• Age: 21-32 years, as on the date of advertisement.
• Remuneration: Rs. 7,500/month (including EPF share of employee & employer).

3. Head Cook

• Male for Boys’ Hostel and Female for Girls’ Hostel.
• Age: 30-40 years, as on the date of advertisement.
• Must stay in the hostel 24×7.
• Trained cooks are given preference and due weightage.
• Must be well conversant with using LPG and maintain perfect hygiene in dress and cooking habits.
• Remuneration: Rs. 9,000/month (including EPF share of employee & employer).

4. Assistant Cook

• Male for Boys’ Hostel and Female for Girls’ Hostel.
• Age: 21-32 years, as on the date of advertisement.
• Must stay in the hostel 24×7. Maximum 2 Assistant Cooks can be engaged in one hostel.
• Remuneration: Rs. 6,750/month (including EPF share of employee & employer).

Preference in Engagement

Preference is given to local candidates, preferably from the same block area. If candidates are not available locally, the block is taken as the unit; if still unavailable, candidates from nearby blocks may be selected. No candidates from outside the district will be recruited against these posts.

Selection Process

• Original documents are verified by a Sub-Committee at the time of interview.
• Interview for Warden and Night Watchman-cum-Sweeper is held on one day; a Practical Cooking Test for Head Cook and Assistant Cook is held on the next day.
• Warden: Selected through Career-based marks (60%) + Interview (20%) + Experience (20%).
• Night Watchman-cum-Sweeper: Selected through Interview only (100 marks).
• Head Cook & Assistant Cook: Selected only through Practical Cooking Test (100 marks).

The panel list of shortlisted candidates, along with the rejection list, will be published on the district website and notice board of the concerned OAV and the Office of the DEO, Khordha, after committee approval. Shortlisted candidates are intimated to appear for interview/practical test by the Principal concerned via Registered Post and Notice Board.

On expiry of the 1-year engagement period, fresh engagement will be made (with a gap of at least 1 working day) based on the satisfactory performance of the employee.
