Railway Recruitment Cell, North Central Railway (RRC/NCR), Prayagraj, has released GDCE Notification No. RRC/NCR/GDCE-01/2026 dated 28.09.2026 for 656 posts: Assistant Loco Pilot, Technician, Junior Engineer, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk and Junior Clerk cum Typist. Educational Qualification (Summary)

You need the same qualification prescribed for direct recruitment (Annexure-F), held on the closing date and recorded in your service record and HRMS.

• Assistant Loco Pilot: 10th + ITI (NCVT/SCVT) in listed trades such as Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright, Electronics Mechanic, Motor Vehicle, Wireman, Diesel, Turner, Machinist, R&AC etc., or 10th + Course Completed Act Apprenticeship, or 10th + 3-year Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile Engg. (B.E./B.Tech also accepted).
• Technician Gr-I (Signal/Telecom): B.Sc. in Physics/Electronics/Computer Science/IT/Instrumentation, or 3-year Diploma / Degree in these engineering streams.
• Technician Gr-III: 10th + ITI or Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the relevant trade. Diploma/Degree is not accepted in place of ITI/CCAA unless stated.
• Junior Engineer: 3-year Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline (B.Sc. is allowed for some posts as per Annexure-F). B.E./B.Tech is accepted.
• Commercial cum Ticket Clerk / Junior Clerk cum Typist: 12th with at least 50% marks (50% not needed for SC/ST/PwBD and those with higher qualification).

Age Limit (as on 01.01.2027)

Note: The notice’s text gives the OBC upper limit as 45 years, but the date-of-birth table shows ’18 to 47 years’ for OBC with a cut-off of 02.01.1982 (which matches 45 years). Please check the official notice before applying. No age relaxation is allowed for reserved candidates applying against UR vacancies.

Who Is Not Eligible

• Employees already in a higher grade than the notified post
• Trainees / substitutes not yet regularised
• RPF/RPSF personnel
• Law Assistant, Catering Inspector and Accounts cadre
• Those awaiting the final result of the minimum qualification
• Those who resign or get transferred out of NCR during the process
• You cannot apply for the post you are currently working on

Application Fee

The notice does not mention any application fee.

Selection Process

• ALP: CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), Document Verification, Medical. Final merit gives 50% weight to CBT and 50% to CBAT.
• Technician and JE: CBT, Document Verification, Medical.
• Commercial cum Ticket Clerk: CBT (120 questions, 90 minutes), DV, Medical.
• Junior Clerk cum Typist: CBT, Computer Based Typing Skill Test (30 WPM English / 25 WPM Hindi, qualifying), DV, Medical.
• CBT questions are in English and Hindi. 1/3 mark is deducted for each wrong answer (no negative marking in CBAT).

2. Visit www.rrcpryj.org from 01.10.2026 and open the GDCE-01/2026 online application link.
3. Use your own valid mobile number and personal e-mail ID.
4. Give your post preferences carefully – they cannot be changed later. Choose your ITI trade (ALP/Technician) or exam group (JE).
5. Submit before 30.10.2026, 11:59 PM. No printout needs to be sent to RRC.

Q1. Who can apply for NCR GDCE 2026?

Only regular serving employees of North Central Railway (except RPF/RPSF) who meet the qualification, age and medical standards.

Q2. How many posts are there?

656 posts – 428 ALP, 61 Technician, 60 JE, 104 Commercial cum Ticket Clerk and 3 Junior Clerk cum Typist.

Q4. What is the age limit?

18-42 years for UR, OBC up to 45 years (as per the text) and SC/ST up to 47 years, as on 01.01.2027.

Q5. Is there negative marking?

Yes, 1/3 mark is deducted for each wrong answer in the CBT. There is no negative marking in the ALP aptitude test.

Q6. Is minimum service needed?

No. As per RBE 72/2024, no minimum service condition is prescribed.

Q7. Can I apply for more than one post?

Yes, if eligible. You must give post preferences in the single online form, and they cannot be changed later.
