Job Description

The Assistant Sub-Inspector (Ministerial) is the entry-grade clerical post in the Police Department, responsible for tasks such as Receipt, Despatch, typing, computer operation, maintaining records and registers, office files, and initial correspondence. Some senior Assistant Sub-Inspectors (M) are also entrusted with handling cash, maintaining cashbooks, preparing bills, and scrutinizing bills.

Physical Standards

Physical Measurement (Male Candidates)

Female Candidates: Minimum height 157 cm with minimum weight of 45 kg. No chest measurement standard is prescribed for female candidates.

Physical Efficiency Test

Computer Proficiency

As prescribed by the Mizoram Group ‘A’, ‘B’ and ‘C’ posts Service/Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2023.

Mizo Language Proficiency

Candidates must achieve the pass mark in the qualifying test of Mizo Language Proficiency. However, candidates who studied Mizo subject in Class-X (HSLC) or above within Mizoram, or who opted for Mizo subject as MIL (Modern Indian Language) outside Mizoram, are exempted from taking this qualifying test.

Age Limit

A candidate must not be less than 18 years and not more than 35 years of age as on 1 August 2026. Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for ST/SC candidates, or as may be notified by the Government from time to time.

Application Fee
