The notice gives one combined chart for Advt. 04/2026 dated 11.09.2026 (138 posts) and the 4 Assistant Professor posts of this advertisement, a total of 142 posts.

Reservation follows the Government Resolutions dated 11 April 2022, 25 January 2024 and 27 February 2024, and the Government Regulation dated 7 April 2022. Social and parallel reservation for backward classes, women, sports persons, orphans and persons with disabilities will be applied as per Government of Maharashtra resolutions.

Who Can Apply

Candidates with a Master’s degree (55%) and NET/SET or Ph.D. can apply for Temporary Assistant Professor. For Director, a Master’s degree with Ph.D., SET/NET, publications and 10 years of experience is needed, or the candidate must be an outstanding professional in the field. Knowledge of Marathi is desirable for all posts.

Educational Qualification

• Director (Option A): (i) Master’s degree with First or Higher Second Class from a recognized University in Education / Distance Education / Social Science / Languages, with Ph.D. and SET or NET in the subject concerned or an allied/relevant subject. Must have published work of high quality, with at least 10 publications (books and/or research/policy papers in peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals) and a total research score of at least 120 as per the Government Resolution dated 08/03/2019 of Government of Maharashtra. (ii) Minimum 10 years of teaching experience in a University/College and/or research experience at University/National level Institutions/Industries, with evidence of having successfully guided a doctoral candidate.
• Director (Option B): An outstanding professional with established reputation in the relevant field, who has made a significant contribution to the concerned/allied/relevant discipline, supported by credentials.
• Director – Desirable: PG Degree/Diploma in Distance Education. Significant experience in academics, administration, or Instructional Design and creation of Self-Learning Materials (SLMs).
• Temporary Assistant Professor (a): Master’s degree with 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University, or an equivalent foreign degree. The candidate must also have cleared NET (UGC/CSIR) or an accredited test like SET, or hold a Ph.D. as per UGC Regulations 2009 or 2016 (such candidates are exempt from NET/SET). Candidates registered for Ph.D. before 11 July 2009 are exempt from NET/SET if: the Ph.D. was in regular mode; the thesis was evaluated by at least two examiners; an open viva was held; two research papers were published from the Ph.D. work (at least one in a refereed journal); and two papers were presented in conferences/seminars sponsored by UGC/ICSSR/CSIR or a similar agency. These conditions must be certified by the Registrar or Dean (Academic Affairs). NET/SET is not required for Master’s disciplines where NET/SET is not conducted, but Ph.D. is then the minimum eligibility.
• Temporary Assistant Professor (b): OR a Ph.D. from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 in the World University Ranking (at any time) by QS, THE or ARWU (Shanghai).
• Assistant Professor – Desirable: PG Degree/Diploma in Distance Education, and significant experience in the Distance Education field.

Marks Relaxation and Other Conditions

• 5% relaxation (55% to 50%) for Ph.D. holders who got their Master’s degree before 19 September 1991.
• 5% relaxation at Bachelor’s and Master’s level for SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer) and differently abled candidates (blindness and low vision; deaf and hard of hearing; locomotor disability including cerebral palsy, leprosy cured, dwarfism, acid-attack victims and muscular dystrophy; autism, intellectual disability, specific learning disability and mental illness; multiple disabilities including deaf-blindness). No grace marks will be counted.
• 4% reservation for physically handicapped candidates as per GR dated 29.05.2019. 30% reservation for women as per Government norms.
• DT-A, NT-B, NT-C, NT-D, OBC and SBC candidates need a Non-Creamy Layer certificate (as per GR dated 16 December 2017) valid till 31.03.2027.
• Reserved category candidates should submit a Caste Validity Certificate. As per GR dated 29 May 2017, A/B/C/D points in VJ/NT category are interchangeable.
• Weightage will be given to applicants with high-quality published work and those who brought in research funds from UGC/CSIR/DST/DBT/TWAS/ISSR/AICTE etc.
• Candidates must submit a small family declaration (Appendix B), as per the State Government Notification dated 28 March 2005.
• Knowledge of Marathi is desirable for all posts.
• These are purely temporary contract posts. Selected candidates cannot claim a regular appointment. The University may extend the service for the next academic year based on performance (GR dated 09.02.2018).
