Educational Qualification
Age Limit
Minimum age: 18 years. Age is calculated based on different reference dates depending on the post (01.08.2023 for Health Supervisor, Multipurpose Health Worker & Veterinary Assistant; 01.08.2024 for Insect Collector & Fisheries Technical Assistant; 01.08.2025 for Junior Regional Investigator).
Persons with Disabilities (PwD) receive an additional 10 years’ relaxation; Ex-servicemen receive an additional 5 years’ relaxation. Only one of these two relaxations (PwD or Ex-servicemen) is applicable — not both combined.
Application Fee
Fee is non-refundable. Applications submitted without fee payment will be rejected.
Selection Process
Selection is through a Computer Based Test (CBT)/OMR-based examination, conducted in two phases:
- Preliminary Examination: 120 objective/multiple-choice questions, 2 hours duration — General Studies (30), Jharkhand-related Knowledge (60), General Mathematics (10), General Science (10), Mental Ability Test (10). Generally NOT conducted if total applications are below 50,000 (Commission may decide otherwise based on circumstances).
- Main Examination: Conducted for all candidates (or directly, if Preliminary is skipped).
Each question carries 3 marks; 1 mark is deducted for each wrong answer. The exam medium is Hindi/English. If a subject’s exam is conducted across multiple groups/shifts, scores will be normalized, with the formula published separately on the JSSC website. Final merit is based on normalized marks.

Why You Should Apply

Preparation Tips
- Focus heavily on Jharkhand-related General Knowledge, as it carries the highest weightage (60 out of 120 questions) in the Preliminary Examination.
- Strengthen your General Studies, General Mathematics, General Science, and Mental Ability sections, which together make up the remaining 60 questions.
- Since there is negative marking (-1 for each wrong answer, +3 for correct), attempt questions strategically and avoid random guessing.
- Keep your caste/EWS/local residence certificates updated and in the exact prescribed format specified in the official brochure — invalid-format certificates will not be accepted.
- Register early within the 20 July-19 August 2026 window to avoid last-minute technical issues, and use the correction window only for genuine errors.
