• Track A: Master’s Degree in Economics/Commerce/Statistics/Business Studies/Public Administration from a recognized University/Institute, plus 1 year of experience handling stores/accounts in Central/State Govt./Statutory/Autonomous Organization/PSU/University/recognized Institution/Bank/Stock-Exchange-listed private organization, OR
• Track B: Bachelor’s degree in the same subjects with 2 years of similar experience, OR a Diploma in Material Management/Warehousing Management/Purchasing/Logistics/Public Procurement with 2 years of similar experience.

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years, maximum 30 years, calculated as on the last date of application. ST candidates against reserved vacancies get 5 years’ age relaxation, and serving Government servants can get relaxation up to 5 years per Central Government instructions.

What the Job Involves

As Foreman of Stores, you’ll be the custodian of a store house, supervising staff, assisting with audit and ledger work, controlling inventory, handling scrap disposal, and overseeing the issue-and-receipt handling system, along with other store-related duties. Vacancies currently exist at Karwar, Minicoy, Pipavav, and Bhubaneswar, but selected candidates are liable to serve anywhere in India, including the Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep Islands.

2. Attach a self-attested colour photograph, plus self-attested photocopies of your Aadhaar card, Matriculation marksheet/certificate, UG/PG/Diploma marksheet/certificate, latest Category Certificate (if applying under ST/EWS), and Experience Certificate.
3. If you’re currently serving in Government service, include a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your employer – this is mandatory, and without it your appointment letter won’t be issued even if selected.
4. Attach 2 recent passport-size photographs, and a blank self-addressed envelope with a Rs 50 postal stamp affixed.
5. Make sure all document dates are on or before 3 November 2026.

How Selection Works

1. Scrutiny of Applications: Your admit card will be sent by post in the self-addressed envelope you provide; the shortlist is also published on www.indiancoastguard.gov.in.
2. Document Verification: Conducted on the exam day itself – bring all original documents dated on or before 3 November 2026.
3. Written Examination: A pen-and-paper, bilingual test with 80 objective questions, 1 mark each, and no negative marking, based on the educational qualification prescribed for the post. Exam centres are tentatively at New Mangalore and Bhubaneswar, subject to change.
