ICMR-NITHR Jabalpur Recruitment 2026: Walk-in for 25 Project Posts on 5 & 6 October

ICMR-National Institute for Tribal Health Research (ICMR-NITHR), Jabalpur, has announced one of its biggest project walk-ins of the year: 25 contractual positions under Advt. No. 05/2026-27, from Project Research Scientist-III to Project MTS. The posts cover projects on health technology assessment, scrub typhus, malaria sero-surveillance, viral diagnostics, tribal healthcare, dengue, Japanese encephalitis and sickle cell disease. Who Can Apply

Candidates with the essential qualification and post-qualification experience listed for each post can walk in. Experience must be gained after the minimum qualification. Persons already in regular time-scale government service are not eligible. Local candidates and those with higher qualification and experience get preference.

Educational Qualification

• Project Research Scientist-III: MBBS/BVSc/BDS + PG degree (MD/MVSc/MDS/MPH) with 3 years’ experience; OR MBBS/BVSc/BDS with MPH/PhD and 3 years’ experience; OR PG degree with 5 years’ experience or PhD + 2 years’ experience.
• Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical): PG degree with 3 years’ post-qualification experience, or PhD. Desirable: PhD/M.Tech, post-doctoral experience, data management skills.
• Project Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical): PG degree (including integrated PG) in the relevant subject; each project lists its own desirable experience (protein cloning/expression, social science research, virus/cell culture, AES/JE, dengue immunology etc.).
• Project Research Scientist-I (Medical): MBBS/BVSc/BDS or equivalent; diagnostics, NABL lab and biosafety experience desirable.
• Project Administrative Officer: Bachelor’s degree with minimum 3 years’ experience in Government/statutory/autonomous bodies/universities/PSUs, with MS Office knowledge.
• Project Field Officer: Graduate in Science/relevant subject with 3 years’ work experience.
• Project Technical Support-III / Senior Project Assistant: 3-year graduate degree in the relevant subject with 3 years’ experience, or PG in the relevant subject.
• Project Technical Support-II: 12th (Science) + MLT/DMLT diploma with 5 years’ experience; OR 3-year graduate degree with 2 years’ experience; OR M.Sc. in the relevant subject (as per post).
• Project Technical Support-I: 10th + Diploma (MLT/DMLT/ITI or ITI-IT/DCA) with 2 years’ experience, or a 3-year graduate degree with 1 year’s experience.
• Project Assistant Multipurpose (Admin): Graduate in any discipline with 2 years’ administrative experience.
• Project MTS: 10th pass with 2 years’ experience.

Age Limit

Age is counted as on the date of the walk-in interview. Relaxation (SC/ST 5 years, OBC 3 years) applies only to posts reserved for those categories, as per GoI norms; there is no relaxation on unreserved posts. ICMR project staff can get up to 5 years’ relaxation based on earlier project service.

Selection Process

• Submit the filled application with certificate copies at ICMR-NITHR, Jabalpur, between 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM on your post’s interview date.
