Qualification
- ✓Senior Research Fellow: Master’s degree in Biotechnology / Agriculture / Botany / Genetics / Plant Science / Life Sciences / related subject with a 4-year or 5-year Bachelor’s degree; OR a post-graduate degree in Basic Sciences (with 3-year Bachelor’s and 2-year Master’s) with NET and 2 years of research experience in the relevant area. Desirable: experience in molecular biology, PCR, gene cloning, gene editing, plant tissue culture, transgenic plants.
- ✓Young Professional-II: Master’s in Biotechnology / Agriculture / Botany / Genetics / Plant Science / Life Sciences / related subject, or a professional graduate degree (4 years) in Agricultural Sciences / Biotechnology / other life sciences.
- ✓Project Associate-I: Master’s in Biotechnology / Agriculture / Bioinformatics / related subject, or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Technology in the above subjects. Desirable: bioinformatics experience.
- ✓Project Associate-II: Same as PA-I, plus 2 years research and development experience in industrial/academic institutions or S&T organisations in the relevant area.
- ✓Laboratory Assistant: B.Sc. / graduate degree in science. Desirable: experience in an agriculture field or biotechnology laboratory.
The higher PA-I/PA-II pay applies to candidates selected through NET (CSIR-UGC, including lectureship) or GATE, or a national level exam by Central Government departments/institutions. Others get the lower pay.
Age Relaxation
Upper age relaxation: women 5 years, SC/ST 5 years, OBC 3 years, PwD 10 years, and other eligible categories as per Government of India / ICAR rules.
Terms and Conditions
- ✓The position is purely temporary and co-terminus with the project. No right to regularisation or absorption in ICAR/NBPGR.
- ✓Only candidates who have the essential qualification are considered for the interview.
- ✓No TA/DA and no official accommodation.
- ✓The Director’s decision is final. The contract can be ended even before the project ends.
- ✓Emoluments are paid as per the PI’s satisfaction with the work and fund availability.
- ✓The selected candidate must produce a medical certificate at joining.
