Understanding the Massive LDC/Recovery Clerk Vacancy Pool

With 204 out of 222 total posts falling under the Lower Division Clerk/Recovery Clerk category, this is one of the largest clerical recruitment drives conducted by GSSC in recent years, spanning 35 different Goa Government departments — from Collectorate offices to the Directorate of Education, Transport, and Electricity Department. Candidates should review the department-wise category breakup carefully, as reservation for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/PwD/Ex-Servicemen varies significantly by department.

Why the Konkani Language Requirement Matters

Since Konkani is Goa’s official state language, GSSC has made a mandatory Konkani Language Test component of the CBT for all these Group C posts, with a minimum passing requirement of 4 out of 10 marks. Candidates should not overlook this component while preparing, since failing to clear the Konkani minimum threshold disqualifies a candidate from further merit consideration, regardless of their performance in other sections.
