About This Recruitment

Guru Gobind Singh Govt. Hospital, Raghubir Nagar, is filling 26 Senior Resident posts across 7 specialities, including a substantial 12 vacancies in Paediatrics and 5 in Anesthesia, reflecting significant staffing needs against sanctioned strength. With daily walk-in interviews continuing until all posts are filled, this recruitment offers PG-qualified doctors (MD/MS/DNB or equivalent experience) a relatively quick pathway into government hospital service, even on an adhoc basis.

Why This Recruitment Offers a Fast Entry Route

Unlike most government medical recruitment processes involving lengthy written examinations, this Senior Resident recruitment relies entirely on document-based selection through a walk-in interview, with daily interviews continuing until posts are filled, making it a comparatively fast route into government hospital employment for eligible doctors. Candidates who have not yet completed 3 years of senior residency, whether in regular or adhoc positions, hold a preference advantage over those who have already completed this period, so recently PG-qualified doctors should find themselves particularly well-placed for these 26 vacancies.

Understanding the Adhoc Appointment Structure

Candidates should understand that this Senior Resident appointment is explicitly adhoc, capped at 89 days or until the post is filled through the concerned department’s regular recruitment process, whichever comes first, rather than a stable long-term position. Despite this limited tenure, adhoc Senior Resident positions at government hospitals like GGSGH remain valuable for doctors building their clinical experience and Senior Residency tenure, particularly since many subsequently reapply or transition into regular positions as they become available through separate recruitment cycles.

Preparing for a Same-Week Interview

Given the walk-in interview format and short notice, candidates should immediately gather their MBBS and PG degree/diploma certificates, DMC registration proof, experience certificates (if applying based on 3 years’ relevant experience rather than a PG qualification), photo ID, and residential address proof, along with a recent passport-size photograph. Since this is a daily walk-in interview continuing until all 26 posts are filled, candidates unable to attend on 07 September 2026 specifically should still consider attending on a subsequent date, though earlier attendance generally offers better odds given vacancies may reduce as posts get filled.

About Guru Gobind Singh Govt. Hospital

Guru Gobind Singh Govt. Hospital, located in Raghubir Nagar, is one of the Delhi Government’s network hospitals under the Health & Family Welfare Department, providing secondary and specialist care across departments including Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Radiology, Anesthesia and Dermatology. This substantial 26-post Senior Resident recruitment, sanctioned per the Health & Family Welfare Department’s own staffing order, reflects the hospital’s ongoing effort to maintain adequate specialist coverage across its non-teaching specialist cadre.

Weighing an Adhoc Senior Residency Against Other Options

For MD/MS/DNB-qualified doctors weighing this adhoc opportunity against private practice or other government positions, an adhoc Senior Residency at a Delhi government hospital offers a Level-11 pay scale broadly comparable to regular government medical postings, along with valuable public hospital clinical exposure, even though the position itself is capped at 89 days or until regular filling. Many doctors use such adhoc positions as a bridge while awaiting outcomes from other regular recruitment processes, given the relatively low barrier to entry through a same-week walk-in interview compared to competitive written examinations for permanent government medical posts.

A Reminder About the Written Application Format

Since GGSGH requires the application to contain specific details including DMC Registration Number and Date of Internship Completion in addition to standard bio-data, candidates should prepare this information in advance rather than filling it out hurriedly at the venue, given how time-constrained the walk-in interview process typically is. Candidates should also verify that their DMC registration is current and valid, since this is a specifically listed requirement and any lapse could disqualify an otherwise eligible candidate during document verification at the interview.

A Final Note

Given the daily walk-in nature of this recruitment and 26 posts spread across 7 specialities, eligible MD/MS/DNB-qualified doctors and those with relevant 3-year experience should treat this as a genuinely accessible near-term opportunity and report at GGSGH with fully complete documentation in hand as soon as reasonably possible.
