Eligibility Criteria

Two distinct sets of qualifications apply, one for the engineering branches and another for the MCA programme.

Qualifications for Engineering Branch

Candidates must hold a B.E./B.Tech./B.S. and M.E./M.Tech./M.S., or an Integrated M.Tech. in the relevant branch, with First Class or equivalent in any one of the degrees. This is the same qualification prescribed for the post of Assistant Professor.

Qualifications for MCA Programme

Candidates must satisfy any one of the following:

  • B.E./B.Tech/B.S. and M.E./M.Tech/M.S., or an Integrated M.Tech. in a relevant branch with First Class or equivalent in any one of the degrees; OR
  • B.E./B.Tech. and MCA with First Class or equivalent in any one of the two degrees; OR
  • Graduation of three years’ duration with Mathematics as a compulsory subject, and MCA with First Class or equivalent, along with 2 years of relevant experience after acquiring the MCA degree.

Remuneration

The total emoluments in a month for engaged candidates shall not exceed the following limits:

  • Rs.30,000 per month for candidates fulfilling the eligibility of Assistant Professor in the concerned discipline, calculated at the rate of Rs.650 per hour; OR
  • Rs.25,000 per month (maximum) for candidates possessing a B.Tech. degree with First Division in the concerned discipline, calculated at the rate of Rs.550 per hour.

How to Apply / Walk-in Process

This is a walk-in recruitment – there is no online application portal. Interested and eligible candidates must bring their filled application form (in the prescribed format), along with original certificates and one set of self-attested photocopies, to the venue on the day of the interview.

  1. Download and fill up the Application Form, which asks for personal details, educational/technical qualifications (High School to Ph.D./NET/SLET/GATE), employment record, and list of publications, if any.
  2. Prepare original certificates and one set of self-attested photocopies of all educational and experience documents, along with category certificates (SC/ST/OBC/EWS) and domicile proof where applicable.
  3. Reach the Conference Hall (PCT), College of Technology, Pantnagar, by 9:00 AM on 14 August 2026.
  4. Candidates will be required to give a presentation in their subject, followed by a walk-in interview, on the same day.

Important Instructions

  • No T.A./D.A. shall be paid to candidates for attending the interview.
  • No separate intimation shall be made for the walk-in interview; candidates must note the date, time and venue from this notice itself.
  • The number of seats may increase or decrease at the time of interview, at the discretion of the College of Technology.
  • The College of Technology reserves the right not to fill any of the posts, without assigning any reason.
  • In the event that no eligible candidate is available at the time of interview from the reserved categories, the position shall be filled from the unreserved/other category.
  • This is a purely contractual engagement for the I Semester 2026-27 and does not confer any right to regular appointment.

Understanding the Two Remuneration Slabs

Candidates should pay close attention to which of the two remuneration slabs they qualify for, since this depends on the exact combination of degrees held. The higher slab of up to Rs.30,000 per month is reserved for candidates who meet the full Assistant Professor eligibility norms in their discipline – typically a postgraduate qualification (M.E./M.Tech./M.S.) in addition to the base engineering degree, with First Class or its equivalent. Candidates who hold only a B.Tech. degree, but with First Division marks, are still eligible to apply and will be considered under the second slab, capped at Rs.25,000 per month. Since payment is calculated on an hourly basis (Rs.650 or Rs.550 per hour, subject to the respective monthly cap), the actual amount received in a given month will depend on the number of teaching hours assigned by the department.

Preparing for the Walk-in Presentation

Since this is a walk-in selection rather than a written examination, candidates should come prepared to demonstrate subject command directly in front of the interview panel. The notice specifies that candidates will be required to give a presentation in their subject area as part of the process, so applicants are advised to prepare a clear, well-structured presentation on a core topic from their discipline, and to be ready to field questions on their academic background, teaching approach, and any prior classroom or industry experience. Carrying a laptop with backup copies of the presentation, along with printed handouts if possible, can help avoid last-minute technical issues on the day of the interview.
