About This Recruitment
This walk-in recruitment drive is being conducted under the District Mineral Fund (DMF) scheme for the year 2026-27, aimed at filling critical specialist doctor vacancies at District Hospital Bilaspur and Community Health Centre Bilha to strengthen healthcare delivery in the district. With the state government prioritizing specialist medical staffing at the district level, this recruitment offers MD/MS/DNB qualified doctors in Medicine, Anesthesia and Orthopedics an opportunity for a well-paying temporary government assignment with a consolidated salary of Rs. 93,750 per month.
Why Candidates Must Act Immediately
Since the walk-in interview is scheduled for 03 September 2026 with registration closing at 11:30 AM, eligible candidates have an extremely narrow window to prepare and reach the venue. Given that late applications will not be accepted under any circumstances, as clearly stated in the notice, candidates should immediately gather their original documents, self-attested photocopies, and Chhattisgarh residence proof (where applicable), and plan to arrive at the CMHO office in Naya Chowk, Sarkanda, Bilaspur well ahead of the registration deadline to avoid missing this opportunity entirely.
Understanding the Reservation and Local Residency Rules
Candidates should note that this recruitment specifically requires a Chhattisgarh permanent residence certificate to claim reservation benefits under ST, SC or OBC categories; without this certificate, a candidate will automatically be placed in the Unreserved category regardless of their actual caste status. Additionally, preference is explicitly given to local Chhattisgarh residents, with candidates from other states considered only if suitable local candidates are not found for a given post – a detail that out-of-state specialist doctors interested in this opportunity should factor into their decision to attend.
About the District Mineral Fund Scheme
The District Mineral Fund (DMF) is a non-profit trust set up in mining-affected districts under the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Act, using a share of mining royalties to fund welfare initiatives in health, education, drinking water and infrastructure for local communities affected by mining activity. In Bilaspur district, the DMF has sanctioned administrative approval for the year 2026-27 specifically to strengthen specialist medical staffing at District Hospital Bilaspur and CHC Bilha, reflecting a broader trend across mineral-rich Chhattisgarh districts of using DMF funds to address critical healthcare staffing gaps in government hospitals that often struggle to attract and retain specialist doctors through regular recruitment channels alone.
What to Expect on Interview Day
Candidates should arrive at the CMHO office well before the registration window closes at 11:30 AM, since forms received after the specified time will not be accepted under any circumstances, regardless of the reason for delay. On the day of the walk-in interview, the merit list and any objections related to the process can be viewed on-site itself, and candidates should be prepared to have their documents scrutinized immediately by the District Selection Committee before proceeding to the interview stage. Given that these are consolidated-pay temporary positions rather than regular government appointments, candidates should also be mentally prepared for the possibility of transfer to another posting location within the district as per the appointment order, since the notice explicitly states that these posts are transferable, and candidates must report for duty and reside at whichever location they are eventually posted to under the appointment order.
