About This Recruitment

Container Corporation of India Limited (CONCOR) is a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the administrative control of the Ministry of Railways, and is the leader in Containerized Multimodal Logistics Services in India. The company operates a vast network of container terminals, including ICDs, DCTs, CFSs, PSCTs and MMLPs, and plays a major role in India’s domestic and international trade infrastructure. This recruitment adds 77 professionals across commercial, technical, finance, IT and administrative disciplines, at both entry-level Management Trainee and slightly more experienced Assistant Officer levels.

Management Trainee vs. Assistant Officer

The Management Trainee posts are aimed at younger candidates, aged 18 to 28, who will undergo a year of structured on-the-job and off-the-job training before being absorbed into the Asst. Manager (E1) grade, making this route well suited to fresh postgraduates or recently qualified professionals. The Assistant Officer posts, with an age limit of 18 to 32, require candidates to already have a few years of relevant work experience, and place them directly into operational roles without the year-long training period, making this route better suited to candidates who already have some hands-on experience in their field.

Preparing for the Computer Based Test

Since Professional Knowledge carries half the total marks in this exam, with 50 out of 100, candidates should prioritize brushing up on the technical or domain knowledge relevant to their specific post code, whether that is commercial and logistics concepts, accounting principles, engineering fundamentals or IT systems knowledge. The remaining sections, English Language, Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude and General Knowledge, are shared across all post codes and can be prepared using standard competitive exam practice material. Given the quarter-mark penalty for each wrong answer, candidates should attempt questions they are reasonably confident about first, and be selective rather than guessing on unfamiliar questions.

Choosing Test Cities Carefully

Candidates are allowed to select up to three Test Cities in order of preference while filling the online application, and this choice cannot be changed after submission. Since CONCOR reserves the right to allot the final centre based on response and administrative feasibility, candidates should list their preferred cities thoughtfully at the time of applying, keeping ease of travel and their overall exam-day logistics in mind, rather than leaving this decision for the last moment.
