Educational Qualification and Age Limit

Age limit follows the Apprenticeship Rules. Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing NATS/NAPS apprenticeship, or have one year or more of experience, are NOT eligible to apply.

How to Apply for CMWSSB Apprentice Recruitment 2026

1. New candidates: Visit nats.education.gov.in, click Student, then Student Register, and complete the application form to generate a unique 12-digit Enrolment Number (ATN).
2. Candidates already enrolled in the old NATS portal (mhrdnats.gov.in): reset password via “Forgot Password” and complete migration to the new portal.
3. After enrollment, login with your email ID and password, go to “Apply against advertised vacancies”, search “Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board”, and click Apply.
4. Upload the B.E./B.Tech/Diploma Provisional Certificate or Consolidated Mark Sheet, and compulsorily enter the percentage of marks/CGPA – candidature will not be considered if this is not furnished.
5. Complete enrollment and application on or before 17 October 2026.

Selection Procedure

• Board of Apprenticeship Training (Southern Region) prepares a shortlist based on online application data.
• Shortlisting is done based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification for the respective discipline.
• Shortlisted candidates are intimated through their registered Email ID and must appear for Certificate Verification at CMWSSB, Chennai.
• The shortlist is published at nats.education.gov.in under Regional Events – BOAT (Southern Region) – Apprenticeship News.

Important Instructions for Applicants

• Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD follows Apprentices Act guidelines; candidates must furnish the prescribed Government format certificate, failing which they will be treated as General category.
• No TA/DA will be paid for attending certificate verification; no boarding/lodging expenses are admissible.
• Upon completion of the apprenticeship, CMWSSB has no obligation to offer employment, and apprentices cannot claim a right to employment on this basis.
• Incomplete or erroneous online applications, or those received after the due date, will be rejected with no further communication.
• Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) has not authorized any individual/organization to coordinate or liaison this recruitment – candidates should beware of touts.
