The Bihar Technical Service Commission (BTSC) has released Advertisement No. 27/2026 for 787 regular posts of Mobile Veterinary Officer (Bhramanshil Pashu Chikitsa Padadhikari) and equivalent under the Dairy, Fisheries and Animal Resources Department, Bihar. The posts carry Pay Level-9 (Rs 53,100 – Rs 1,67,800). Online applications run from 24 September to 23 October 2026 on btsc.bihar.gov.in.

*13 posts (VH-3, HH-3, OH-3, MH-4) for PwD backlog are kept in the unreserved category. Horizontal PwD reservation: VH 6+3*, HH 6+3*, OH 5+3*, MH 5+4*. Grandchildren of freedom fighters: 11 posts. Figures in brackets are backlog vacancies. Vacancies may change as the department sends requisitions.

Who Can Apply

Indian citizens with a B.V.Sc. or B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from a university recognized by the Veterinary Council of India, and permanent registration with the Bihar Veterinary Council, can apply. Reservation and the 35% women’s horizontal reservation are available only to permanent residents of Bihar; candidates from other states apply under the general category.

Educational Qualification

• B.V.Sc. or B.V.Sc. & A.H. degree from a university recognized by the Veterinary Council of India – compulsory.
• Permanent registration with the Bihar Veterinary Council – compulsory.
• Graduates of veterinary colleges located in Bihar get 50% horizontal reservation in all categories.

Age Limit

Minimum age is 21 years. Relaxations: 10 years for PwD; 5 years for regular Bihar Government servants with 3 years’ service; up to 8 years for equivalent contract service (including veterinarians on contract in departmental projects); relief for those who crossed the age limit between 01.08.2021 and 01.08.2026; and ex-servicemen as per rules. Only one relaxation applies.

Selection Process

• Written competitive exam (Computer Based Test): 75 marks weightage (CBT percentage x 0.75; e.g. 60% = 45 marks).
• Contract experience weightage: 5 marks per completed year on contract in an equivalent post, up to 25 marks (proportionate for part years).
• CBT: 100 MCQs, 2 hours, in Hindi and English, based on the B.V.Sc. & A.H. syllabus; +1 per correct answer and -0.25 per wrong answer; normalisation for multiple shifts.
• Minimum qualifying marks: General 40%, BC 36.5%, EBC 34%, SC/ST/Women/PwD 32%. Candidates from outside Bihar (including women and PwD) must score 40%.
• Experience marks are given only to those who qualify the written exam.

2. Register and fill the online form carefully, including reservation, disability, freedom-fighter and experience claims – claims not made in the form are not allowed later.
3. Pay the Rs 100 fee online (Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI) and keep the receipt.
4. Submit the form by 23 October 2026 and keep a printout.
